Welcome to Y & L Custom Cookies. My name is Lorez and my husband's name is Yusef. Previously we owned a business that specialized in special occasion cakes and baked goods as well as delicious chocolates. When we added custom cookies to the list of goodies, I just fell in love with them! After some time, we decided to focus only on designing delicious custom cookies. Yusef, (the "Y" in Y & L) has encouraged and supported me through the process of turning a hobby into a business that is both fun and makes others happy!

My journey to creating wonderful baked goods began about 20 years ago when I volunteered at our church to run the kitchen for a two week long summer camp. Since I have a background in restaurant management, this was a good fit. During that event, I became a "foodie" obsessed with offering creative delicious meals for the staff and campers.

I then began to cater events where I prepared meals of several courses including desserts. This is when I fell in love with baking! Seeing the smiles my cakes and confections brought to the faces of my friends, family and customers made me want to focus in that area.
